Domain name is good for blog, it helps in the shortening of URL. But due to how the Economy is, there is no money so we have to choose other ways we can to get a Domain name and the alternative for now is .tk domain name which is free. Follow the steps below to setup a .tk domain for your blog.
- Firstly click here to visit the website
- Now Enter the name of the website you want to get the domain for, then click GO
- If the Domain has not been used then it will redirect you like below but if otherwise then try another name
When the tab opens like above then enter your blogspot domain E.g Gistxtral.blogspot.com, select 12 months as Registration length, Type the captcha and click on Sign up with your email
- A confirmation mail will be sent to your Email, go and confirm it and you have registered the domain.
After getting the Domain, it remain setting it on your blogspot site. To setup the domain:
- Login to your bloggers dashboard, click on Settings--- basic then click on Add a custom domain
- Now enter your new domain with the .tk as shown below
After clicking on save, you will get an error message as below
Go and login your dot.tk account, click on domain panel, then click MODIFY
Now click on Dot TK DNS services as below
Select Cname Record in type and fill the rest as below
Select CNAME RECORD again and fill it with the error message you got in Step 3 like this
Now click on A RECORD, fill it with your domain name in host name and 216.239.32.21
Now click on save changes like below
- Now wait for like 2 hours and now login your blogger account and perform the second part number 1.. Now you are good to go with a new custom domain name
